Happy Gotcha Day Lucy!

Today is Lucy's Gotcha Day. Eleven years ago Lucy showed up at our door a skinny little stray. The vet said she was about a year old which means that our Lucy is now 12.

As you can see, she did not stay skinny very long. She gained weight so fast that we thought she had a tumor, but the vet said that she was just eating all the time. Lucy isn't much of a hunter so it must have been a very hungry time for her.

Lucy is now a Luxury Girl and spends most of her time snoozing on the sofa or in our bed.

Lucy believes it is her job to check out all the blankies when the cold weather comes and makes sure they are comfy enough. She obviously loves her job!

We sure do love our Lucy and hope she has many more Gotcha Days to come.

One Year Anniversary

Our dear Bouncie died one year ago today. We sure do miss you sweet boy!

Bounce loved his recliner, it was his most favorite place of all. What a handsome guy!

He also had a hearty mancat appetite and loved to eat!

Now I'd like to tell you all a true story. We bought our house in July 2004. The family who owned the house previously had three cats. Shortly after moving in, I heard meowing coming from the hallway leading back to the bedrooms, but it was not the meow of any of our cats. The meowing continued on and off for several years and both my husband and son also heard it at that time and we began referring to it as the Ghost Cat. I had a strong feeling that it was a female.
On many occasions as I was reading in bed or watching TV, I would feel a cat jump onto the bed and walk up to me, but when I looked there was nobody there. My husband and son had the same experiences and we became comfortable with our invisible visitor. I would talk to the Ghost Cat and tell her that she was welcome to stay as long as she wished, and so she stayed.
Our Bounce passed away on November 13, 2008. I believe that he took the Ghost Cat with him to the Bridge because we have not heard or felt her since.

Rain Rain Go Away (and other stuff)

It has been raining here for two whole days now and it is supposed to rain until Friday! Until the rain goes away we will spend our time on the sofa napping.

Trixie is still dreaming of her beloved mancat Tigger and hoping that he finds his way home very soon!

In other news, the boy bean had his 19th birthday so this is his last year of being a teenager! He also gotted a job working the same place as dad. Our granddaughter bean had H1N1 virus and was sick for a couple of weeks. Our grandniece was in the hospital for a couple of days because she had the virus and pneumonia at the same time! We are very glad our sticky little grandbeans are doing okay now. Mom finally gotted another car that is bigger than the one that was in the accident.
Whew! I sure hope things will stay calmed down for a while.

Yes?

Is there a specific reason you interrupted my nap, or did you just want to wake me up with the flashy box?

Our Favorite Napping Spots

Since the weather has turned colder, the blankies have been put out for our sleeping and napping comfort.

First, here is were we spend most of our time, Mom & Dad's bed.

This is our favorite spot on the sofa and sometimes we have swatting matches over who will get to nap here.

The top of the sofa is Trixie's favorite place during the cold months.

Every once in a while Lucy likes to sleep in the bed in the guest room.

And last, but certainly not least, is Bouncie's favorite of all time - his recliner. We know better than to ever try and sleep in Bouncie's spot. I think the chair looks a little sad because it misses him.

I hope you all enjoyed the little tour of our favorite napping spots.

Just Checking In

We have missed blogging and visiting with everyone. Mom was in a car accident last week, she wasn't seriously hurt but has a lot of bruises. The accident was not Mom's fault, an SUV changed lanes without looking and hit her car, she slid into the right lane and sideswiped another car. Then the SUV that hit her swerved back into the left lane and rear-ended another car, so altogether there were four cars involved.

Between healing and dealing with insurance companies she has not had much time to blog.

I am purring and purring very hard for Tigger to be back home. In the meantime I will dream about him every time I take a nap.

Lucy is hanging out in the living room as usual. We both have been purring extra for Mom to feel better soon!

Words on Wednesday

Go ahead Mom, just try and make this bed!

We are so happy that Samantha is back home. We're purring and praying that Mr. Tigger will be right behind her!
